Priceline Hotel: 3*,3.5*, 4* Hotel Chelsea Area 3/29-4/1

I have been trying to get a 3 to 4 star hotel in the Chelsea area of New York city. I want to stay in this area and I have bid up to $170 with no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

What bids have you made in terms of the max you've bid at each level? What would be your desired max bid per night?

Additionally, is Chelsea the only acceptable zone?

I think you're up against a few issues:

1) you're only bidding one zone so not given that many hotels a chance to accept your bid

2) there aren't that many hotels in this immediate area, so what hotels do participate with PRICELINE and HOTWIRE don't need to discount as deeply as in other parts of the city

3) using MAPS and HOTELS.com i'm see rating rates for hotels in this zone at $300+... refer back to #2 above

Is this the only acceptable zone for this stay?
