Thanks for providing such an excellent resource. Using the past bidding history Priceline Maps and your suggested techniques, I came up with this deal.

After doing some crazy low balling on prices in downtown Chicago, I looked at the express deals. The 3* offer in Skokie - Niles - Evanston caught my attention at $55. Based on the amenities, it was very likely the Holiday Inn (I used the Illinois Priceline hotels post and looked up the hotels). I considered the 5% discount deal going on now for PRICELINE EXPRESS deals. But why not give bidding a shot, right?

My first bid was $40 for the Skokie area only at 3*. PRICELINE immediately offered me a rebid at $52 without changing anything else... of course - that is the same deal they are offering for the express deal (5% of 55 is $52.25). I rebid using the downtown zones increasing by $2 until my $46 offer was accepted. Every $12 (2 night stay) counts right!
