The "number of bookings in the last 24 hours" for both properties have been the same for several days now. However, the amenities, and the customer recommendation do differ slightly between the two. Am I somewhat correct with this assumption?Property 2: 5 star Strip South, $170, 100% recommendationPool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Charges $30/night resort feeProperty 3: 5 star Strip - South, $163, 90% recommendationFree Parking Free Internet Suite Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower Charges $30/night resort feeThe reason why I'm hesitant to book Property 2 or 3 is because a friend had booked the $163 option last Friday and it turned out to be the Four Seasons, in which we don't like the location. Even though Property 2 doesn't have a casino, if it ends up being a hotel that is more central on the strip like Vdara, I'm okay with that. Thank you for your help. I searched and will book using your HOTWIRE link.
thereuare Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding!Best guess (and comments) are inline below:Property 1: 5 star Strip North $230, 90% recommendedVenetian or PalazzoProperty 2: 5 star Strip South, $170, 100% recommendationVdara or Four Seasons... both have been seen with this amenity set.Property 3: 5 star Strip - South, $163, 90% recommendationVdara or Four Seasons==> i think properties #2 and #3 are different. My guess is that the $170/nite hotel is the Four Seasons and the $163 property is the Vdara. The reason why I'm hesitant to book Property 2 or 3 is because a friend had booked the $163 option last Friday and it turned out to be the Four Seasons, in which we don't like the location. Even though Property 2 doesn't have a casino, if it ends up being a hotel that is more central on the strip like Vdara, I'm okay with that. Are your friend's dates the same as yours (if not do you know his dates) and do you know his room rate per nite? Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Jason_B Posted March 6, 2013 Author Report Posted March 6, 2013 Yes his dates are the exact same. He got it for a $170/night last Friday. Still my only concern is that the number "Bookings in last 24 hours" always increases/decreases at the exact same rate for both properties. Yesterday it was 77 bookings, and today it is 73 bookings. Is this a legitimate concern?
thereuare Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 Your friend's results would be consistent with my guess above.I haven't looked at this previously but i'll speculate now that the number of bookings within the last 24 hours are not for that specific property but rather for that star rating in that zone... if you look at the two 5* Strip South properties they have have the same number of bookings too (although the information is a bit more vague at 'over 100'). Searching other Las Vegas dates i'm seeing the same '77 rooms booked' in the last 24 hours for all 5* Strip South zone properties, and when more then one 5* Strip South hotel is shown on the same search, each has the same number here as well (even when the amenities are quite different from each other)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Jason_B Posted March 6, 2013 Author Report Posted March 6, 2013 Oh that would make sense too. Thanks for explaining. Just one more question. How much weighting should I put into the "Customer Recommendation" percentage when trying to ID a property? When my friend booked last Friday at $170, the rating was definitely at 90%. So would I be correct to assume that the 100% recommended property be Vdara by default? But then again this would contradict the pricing. Thanks again for your help. Love this site!
thereuare Posted March 7, 2013 Report Posted March 7, 2013 How much weighting should I put into the "Customer Recommendation" percentage when trying to ID a property?Very little... we see this number change from one search to the next, even for the same property, and sometimes revert back to 'still gather reviews'.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Jason_B Posted March 8, 2013 Author Report Posted March 8, 2013 So I ended up going with a different property that popped up when I changed some of the search parameters. The search I did was for 2 rooms and 4 adults. The price I got was $194/night and the property was Aria. I noticed a 5 star Strip South hotel with a casino and jumped on it right away. AmenitiesResort Free Parking Casino Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Thanks for your help guys. I will definitely be referring my family and friends to this site.
