Please keep all posts for this trip in this same thread. Once you win a hotel thru PRICELINE or HOTWIRE use the EDIT TO REPORT WIN button on the lower right corner (only visible to the OP) to report your win and the thread will automatically be moved to the correct section of the board if necessary.

Best guess for the Lido di Ostia property above would be the Mercure Roma West.

I have checked the Mercure Roma West on their website and I cannot book 2 adults and 2 kids in ONE room. They suggest booking two rooms instead of one room.

Recommended: 60% of Hotwire customer reviews.

Has the possibility of lodging 2 adults and 2 kids in the same room been reported to the board?

Thanks

For this particular hotel... no.

For any hotel... yes. HOTWIRE guarantees the occupancy for the number of guests you include in your search. Quad occupancy in Europe can often be an issue, so regardless of the hotel you receive i would call ahead of time to ensure that they can accommodate the number of guests you included in your search. If there is a problem contact HOTWIRE and have them contact the hotel to straighten it out. I can't say how HOTWIRE will act, but in the past they will usually try to get the hotel to accommodate the quad occupancy or cancel the reservation.

There are other things puzzling me such as that the Mercure Roma West does not seem to have an outdoor pool. Hotwire states it has both an outdoor and indoor pool.

I wonder if it really can be the Mercure?

No...

Pool = *a* pool

Indoor Pool = indoor pool

If a hotel has an Indoor pool they can show only the Pool amenity, only the Indoor Pool amenity, or both. The 'POOL' amenity does not mean 'Outdoor Pool'... it just means that there is a Pool (indoor or outdoor). HOTWIRE used to only use a Pool amenity and the user didn't know if it was indoor or not, so later they added Indoor Pool as an additional amenity... some hotels with Indoor Pools changed their listing from 'Pool' --> 'Indoor Pool' while others kept the 'Pool' amenity and also added the 'Indoor Pool' amenity and now show both (even though they only have one pool)

For the Rome West property i'd guess for the Crowne Plaza St. Peter's Hotel and for the Rome South property my guess would be the Holiday Inn Eur Parco Dei Medici.
