roseflower Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 Hey there,I am new to this site and came here by recommendation. Hopefully I am posting in the right spot! I have spent the last week pouring over googling maps, checking out different hotels, different areas etc to find a good hotel deal. I have only been to NYC once before and stayed at Park Central which was nice but it was in December and prices were pretty cheap. Now they are going for $250+Upon my initial search for my upcoming trip (April 4-8) for 2 people. I found Park Savoy for $159 a night but honestly, after doing some research on this hotel I am completely weirded out by it and a little spoiled after staying at Park Central.I had never used PRICELINE or Hotwire but yesterday I tried using PRICELINE for the first time and my control freak started to kick in by not having any idea what hotel I would be staying in (non of my offers were accepted anyway)So, can anyone help me here? I am willing to be flexible in area. Times Square (because I am a creature of habit) Midtown West, Central Park South (this is where Park Savoy is though so I am afraid of ending up with that) I don't know what the proper names of the areas on the other side of the Theatre District are called...Madison Square, Empire State, Chelsea...as long as they are not too far. On Saturday I do have an obligation near Pier 94 so I want to be near there. I think Hell's kitchen is by there?A WISH list is a 4 star for $170 a night but I know that is a wish so I will take something that is reputable, clean, safe, and I want to stay as far under $200 as possible.I did find a deal for the Manhattan hotel for $129 on Sunday the 7th and I am thinking about book a hotel for the 4-7, checking out and checking in to the Manhattan for one night because it is such a steal of a deal!Any help would be greatly appreciated. I find this pretty overwhelming. I spend hours on PRICELINE last night and today I have started to look around on HOTWIRE but I have no idea how to zero in on what hotel it could possibly be. Thank you!

roseflower Posted March 5, 2013 Author Report Posted March 5, 2013 There are a few hotels with the same specs. Is there something else you are looking for to tell them apart?
AaronJB Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. If you do not feel comfortable knowing which hotel you may get, there is no way to guarantee a particular hotel via either discount service. However, with HOTWIRE you can make an educated guess as to which hotels are showing based on the information given. If you click "Can't Find What I'm Looking For?" in the upper corner of the Betterbidding website and click "See Hotel Lists", you can go to the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE (in terms of HOTWIRE, you can see the hotels reported and the amenities that have been associated with each) lists for each state. The 4* MTE listing would be a possible match for the Intercontinental Barclay or Grand Hyatt. The 4* Chelsea listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board.3.5* MTE would be a possible match for the Lexington.Let us know if you would be interested in PRICELINE; PRICELINE is usually at least moderately cheaper than HOTWIRE, but you have to be flexible - if you bid for a 4* in a particular zone, you have to be willing to stay at any 4* within the zone/s chosen. Please let us know if you have any questions.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 ... and if you haven't yet please read your messages.Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
