hopeland Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 Surprise! The Marriott is now a 4*. :( Not my first choice, as I always like to stay and usually win the Renaissance, but not a bad deal, I suppose. As always, used BiddingHelper.com.com to bid and purchase.* Bidding: $50 > $51 > $55 > $60. I always bid $51 since I have won the Renaissance a couple of times for that exact amount.* Bid accepted at $60 with no counter-offers.* Retail rate was $159. Retail rates for other 4* were from $139-$179.* There were no 4* offered on Hotwire.

hopeland Posted March 4, 2013 Author Report Posted March 4, 2013 Yes, the more I read about the Marriott, the less happy I am about it. There's no consensus among the retail sites:Hotels.com 3*AAA 3 DiamondExpedia 3.5*TripAdvisor 3.5*Orbitz 4*Travelocity 4*So I think a 4* is a little too generous and it should have remained at the 3.5* level. There hasn't been a renovation that I know of.I guess I just have to hope to be pleasantly surprised when I get there.
