Hi there

i am looking for a hotel for two people in midtown East and Empire State area, is it possible to get a hotel for $100 pernight for 3.5 to 4 stars and would like to use priceline. Is my budget too low?

I never use this bidding system, so please advise the strategy to win a bid.

Should I break the length of stay in two part, three night each hotel and put two bid in different area?

please advise

thanks

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Your budget is too low for NYC this time of year... you can/should start lower but i think a more realistic amount would be in the $145-$165 range. SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID is usually advisable when you're able to split your dates between low rages and high rates, which at a quick first glance doesn't seem to be the case here.

I'll also add:

  • When you bid you can increase your chances by including more zones as it gives more hotels a chance to accept your bid.
  • when bidding 3.5* and below in the MTE zone there are some hotels that can be up to a 15 minute walk to the subway, is this acceptable?

Using MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable 3.5* or better hotel for these dates in one of the zones you're willing to accept?
