Is the Strip South zone also acceptable or only the Strip North zone? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. veganme Posted March 2, 2013 Author Report Posted March 2, 2013 I will do that next time. They quoted me $116 per night. I was thinking Trump but was unsure since its not on the strip. Wouldn't it be labeled as "vicinity"? My ideal budget would be 180 a night (4 guests). The south would be fine except Im afraid of getting vdara. I really need a hotel with a casino. Hotwire had a 5 star at 185 w/ casino earlier and I procrastinated and now its gone :( DO you think my stay is too close to get a deal? 03/16
thereuare Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 I was thinking Trump but was unsure since its not on the strip. Wouldn't it be labeled as "vicinity"?HOTWIRE doesn't have a Strip North Vicinity, only a 'Strip North' zone, so the Trump is included in this area. You should always look closely at the zone boundaries on the map and not just go by the zone name description, since if you do have any issues the boundaries on the map will be the deciding factor if the hotel is part of the zone or not.My ideal budget would be 180 a night (4 guests)... DO you think my stay is too close to get a deal? I think your searching for quad occupancy is reducing the number of offers as well as increasing the price beyond your budget. Most 5* Vegas hotels now charge an extra $25/per nite per person for occupancy over two, so this would add an extra $50 on to your nightly rate. If you search HOTWIRE for 2adults/0children there is a 5* hotel offered in the Strip zone (with Casino) for $165/nite but it also offers a BED CHOICE and if you click thru on the next page you can reserve 2 QUEEN BEDS for $185/nite. This is still bending the rules a bit since you're only declaring double occupancy, but you could just have two people go to the desk at check-in while the others wonder around lobby. While i consider this to be a low risk situation, it's up to you how much risk you're willing to accept, and you need to be comfortable with whatever methods you use when booking. The amenities i'm seeing for this 5* include:Resort, Suite, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Tennis, Spa, Free Parking, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower... and my best guess for this one would be the Palazzo (the Venetian is also a possibility but i believe the one currently offered is more likely the Palazzo)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. veganme Posted March 2, 2013 Author Report Posted March 2, 2013 Yeah I am considering fibbing on the occupancy
thereuare Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 So how would you like to proceed...The advantage of PRICELINE is that you may get a slightly lower rate but you will more then likely only have one bed in the room and you'll need to hope that the room offers a pullout sofabed (or pay an upgrade fee at check-in)The advantage of HOTWIRE is that for $185/nite you can ensure two queen beds in the room (and no decision among the group who is going to sleep on the sofabed, assuming there is one available)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
