However, I noticed this hotel hasn't been mentioned or on a hotwire list.Lake Placid area hotel Super savings†$199 other sites*$109.00per room, per nightGet the hotel name after you book - the savings now.Get a 3 star hotel like:Crowne Plaza Resort Lake Placid-Resort $199Northwoods Inn Lake Placid $156Courtyard by Marriott Lake Placid $209I blindly took this hotel because I didn't want to stay at a dump and also needed to be close to the Olympic Center. Was hoping for the Crowne Plaza but instead got the Northwoods Inn Lake Placid.The day after I booked I called the hotel front desk to see which kind of room I received and was pleasantly surprised that it was a King with a tempurpedic mattress. I asked if the room was in a quiet part of the hotel (based on a review search of the hotel) and he said I could be moved to a corner room with a partial lake view but unfortunately could not get placed on a higher floor due to the type of room I booked. I was happy that I had the option to negotiate the room and its location for paying below the $159 asking price (though I will point out that if you do a Kayak search they do have the same room for $119).
