Priceline Hotel: Waiting on bid

I am currently trying to win a long stay in Orlando (Downtown Disney - Lake Buena Vista) for May 7- May 16 on priceline. In the past 3 star and 3 and a half star hotels went from anywhere between $30 and $50, but my bids at those prices have been unsuccessful. Would you advise that I wait and see if the prices go down since it is still almost 3 months away, or should I just get the cheapest bid that is available right now? I am not aware of any special events during May that would be driving prices up. Also, I am not sure if prices are higher because it is such a long stay.

The problem with longer stays is that a particular hotel has to have every single night available in PRICELINE for a bid to be successful. You are probably in a reasonable rate range, since on HOTWIRE there is a $54 3* for your particular dates. HOTWIRE seems to do a better job at averaging rates than PRICELINE does. There may be a

If you are willing to move, you might consider splitting your bid into a couple shorter stays - 5/4 or 4/5, or even 3/6 or 6/3. There is good discussion about waiting in the FAQs, but I think I'd explore the split bid first.

For this zone $50 is pretty much near the low end of an accepted bid for this time of year and your lengthy stay is not helping.

You can either wait it out and hope for lower prices in the weeks ahead, SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID, or include other nearby zones such as I-Drive North or I-Drive South which may offer something within your current bidding range.
