Shane E Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 Hello,I am planning on staying at Montage in Laguna Beach next week but I decided to check out Hotwire before making my reservation & now I don't know what to do!Montage is listed as one of the options, but the only other place I would want to stay from the list is the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel and I am worried that I would not get my preferred location. Should I just bite the bullet and book through Montage? I have not found anything online that would lead me to believing that the Hotwire reservation would be Montage or the Ritz. Thanks for any input
AaronJB Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Are you seeing a 5* on the discount side of the service for your dates? If so, it would be greatly appreciated if you could provide the specific dates (so that we can research the listing) as well as the price, zone, and complete list of amenities showing with the listing.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Shane E Posted February 26, 2013 Author Report Posted February 26, 2013 Thank you for the welcome!Yes, the 5* is under the HOTWIRE "hot Rates." I am planning on going March 7th - March 8th. Roadguy Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 The St Regis is a 4.0 on Tripadvisor, the 5 star I see now at $225 is a 4.5. While the TA rating isnt guaranteed to be accurate, I will guess its either the Montage or Ritz. Even if its the St Regis, what a great deal
Shane E Posted March 1, 2013 Author Report Posted March 1, 2013 Thank you for the reply! Montage or Ritz are exactly what I'm hoping for, but I am still thinking about it. Would almost spend twice the amount of money to be completely satisfied as opposed to paying ~285 and be unhappy! I will update if I decide to go the HOTWIRE route :)
thereuare Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 The Ritz would be my best guess for this one. With a 5* hotel rating and a 4.5/5.0 TA rating i would think odds favor that you'll be more satisfied then not. ;)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. cbadkid Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 I booked that same room with those amenities, hoping for the montage. I got a room at the Ritz Carlton. It was $300 and change with taxes. I'm not disappointed. I think the pre tax price was $239. I don't think I'm disappointed, as I'd prefer the montage... However, the basic room price was $455 plus taxes and fees on their site for the same stay. I'll post more once I stay this Sunday. You can't beat that deal. Best of luck to you! Thank you to this board and website. I've used it for years, and have never posted. I feel it's time to give back because of the accuracy this site has allowed me pertaining to knowing where I will be staying.
