jeffrey Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 Would like to get a 4 star hotel in Times Square from Sept. 30 - Oct. 2 (3 nights). Any suggestions on starting bid and likelihood of ending up with something outside of Times Square? Thanks
jeffrey Posted August 25, 2005 Author Report Posted August 25, 2005 Can you identify a 3.5 star hotel in Theater District/Times Square...restaurant, pool , fitness center, business center for $290? Is this considered a good hotwire deal? (dates 9/30-10/3)
thereuare Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 Please folllow-up your previous PRICELINE POST with whatever you ended up doing for that stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
jeffrey Posted August 25, 2005 Author Report Posted August 25, 2005 Ended up having to cancel that trip before bidding. Thanks very much for your help with that!
thereuare Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 The 3.5* on Hotwire is a match for the Crowne Plaza and that would be our best guess. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
jeffrey Posted August 30, 2005 Author Report Posted August 30, 2005 Trying to get a MTW hotel for 9/30-10/3. What price range might I expect for these dates? I have had bids up to $160 rejected. When my wife tried to rebid using different sign-in, we were told that we already bid with the same info. Does priceline recognize the computer of origin? I thought bids were limited by sign-in emails accounts. Thanks!
jeffrey Posted August 30, 2005 Author Report Posted August 30, 2005 Just a followup. The rebidding issue seems to have been resolved. I apparently didn't close my browser out completely. Unfortunately the additional bids didn't help me. I have now had bids up to $210 rejected. What do you think is par for these dates and location? Thanks.
thereuare Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 What star level did you bid up to $210 for? What zone(s) did you include on the bid? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
jeffrey Posted August 30, 2005 Author Report Posted August 30, 2005 Sorry for the lack of info. I wanted and just bid on 4 stars. I wanted a hotel in Midtown West (preferably Times Square)...so first I bid 120 on Midtown West, then 140 adding the upper east side, then 160 adding upper west side... all rejected. Then had my wife bid 175 for Midtown West, 200 adding upper east side, then 210 adding upper west side... still all rejected.
thereuare Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 You never know, but i suspect somewhere between $210-$275.Personally i would expand your zones, but it's your trip and you need to be happy with where you stay. jeffrey Posted August 31, 2005 Author Report Posted August 31, 2005 Thanks. Do prices occasionally drift down as you draw closer to the date of arrival? I booked cancellable reservations at the Marriot Marquis for $330. But if I can get the same or similar for $100 less, it would be nice. Is Sept. 30-Oct 3 an unusually busy weekend?
