rid891 Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 I have a need for a room but it is not until Jan 2014. I have been watching Hotwire and it looks like I can get a 4 Star near the Las Olas-Downtown area for $102....This looks like a fair price for high season. So, I have 2 questions, anyone know the 4 Star (Hilton Marina) and is it better to take a "early bird" shot or risk rate increases and wait until December? Thanks for any feedback.
thereuare Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet please start by reading your messages.Nobody can say if rates will come down, or move even higher, between now and your stay, it all depends upon how new reservations/cancellations come in relative to expected reservations/cancellations. For more on this subject see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.If you decide you'd like to lock in this deal now let us know the dates of your stay as well as the amenities associated with this property and we'll have a look and see if we can take a guess as to what it may be.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Thanks. rid891 Posted February 25, 2013 Author Report Posted February 25, 2013 The date is still open but maybe Jan 25 2014 which is a Saturday . Again, it is a pre cruise one nite stay and I am wondering 1. If anyone might "know" the property and 2.Since I am going after an "earlybird" deal is $102 +fees a good gamble? or should I wait
Romelle Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 There is a Hotel Review area way at the end of this site. Unfortunately nobody has been kind enough to review that hotel. You might try a search 'hilton olas downtown" in this Florida Hotwire forum. Sometimes people include mini-review comments with their report of what they received. (And if you end up getting the hotel, maybe you'd be its first reviewer here?)Also, this site is great for hotel reviews.Regarding timing, there is a good discussion in the FAQs. The short answer - there really is no way of knowing. The hotels are pretty good at predicting. The cruise ships and big conventions have schedules known well ahead of time, so rates will reflect that. Have you checked the hotel web site rates? Or some general ones like Expedia/Kayak/et al? That will give you some insight as to whether you've found a bit of a bargain. Please do click the links as requested above. It is a good idea to use them for searching as well as for actual purchase, since then one doesn't slip from research to making a deal without going back through the links. Romelle
thereuare Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 The date is still open but maybe Jan 25 2014 which is a Saturday... it is a pre cruise one nite stayDo you have the cruise booked yet as i'm not sure how the dates would be open if you have already committed to that booking... if you haven't booked the cruise yet i would wait until you have done so and your plans are firm. Also, HOTWIRE reservations can only be booked up to 330 days in advance, of which Jan 25th is just beyond this time frame, are you using the actual date of your stay when searching HOTWIRE?You can also use our sister site Pre Cruise Hotels to get a good overview of retail rates for hotel near the pier. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. If you happen to remember, maybe you'd be so kind as to provide a more current one after your stay there?I'm glad this worked out so well for you. Enjoy that cruise!Romelle
