Priceline Hotel: 4 star hotel in South Beach

I am trying to plan a trip to South Beach for April 11th -14th. I have used Priceline and love it. However i have never used it for Florida. Looking at the name your own price I see I can limit bid to Ocean Drive and 4 stars. From what I can tell that should be Hotel Victor, King, Breakwater and the Hilton. Is that correct?

I have never used Hotwire and am not sure how it works or if I would be better using that. We are two women and want to be on or very close to Ocean drive. We will not have a car. My budget is $225 a night before tax but would like to get something under 200 if possible. The other issue I see is that most hotels only seem to offer one bed in that area.

Any recommendations?

As noted on the list pages (such as Priceline Hotel List Florida) for the hotels that have been reported to the board: "This list is NOT a complete list of all hotels that Priceline offers in this area, it is ONLY a compilation of hotels that have already been reported on this forum. Hotels are added/removed by Priceline all the time, and star ratings can change at ANY time." The same is true for the HOTWIRE lists.

The 4*'s in the South Beach-Ocean Drive zone that have been reported to the board are:

4* Crowne Plaza Z Ocean

4* Hotel Breakwater South Beach

4* Hotel Victor, A Thompson Hotel Hotel Victor

4* The Tides

Neither HOTWIRE or PRICELINE guarantees two beds. However, with HOTWIRE, if you use HOTWIRE you can indicate more than two people in the room, which should ensure more than one bed. That may mean two beds, or 1 + sofa or 1 + rollaway. If you are two adults, you can indicate two adults and two children, even if there are not two children in the party.
