flyingscott Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Hello,I'm going to NYC on 3/4 and am looking for a hotel. I used the Hotwire Link and found a 3.5* for one night on 3/4 for $115. The only amenities listed are Boutique Hotel and Handicap Access. Any ideas?Thank you,Scott
thereuare Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding!Unfortunately this property has not yet been reported to the board and with only these two amenities showing i don't have any additional insight into this property. Is Times Square the only zone you're willing to accept? I am seeing what i believe to be the Belvedere offered for $135/nite if that is of any interest. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. flyingscott Posted February 23, 2013 Author Report Posted February 23, 2013 Thanks for your fast response! I only started with Times Square because I am seeing a show that night, but I am open to other areas and opinions. What star rating is that? I don't see a $135/night listed.I also see a 4* for $130 in ESB with Boutique Hotel, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Business Center and Accessibility options.A 4* for $125 in Chelsea-MSG with Free Internet, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High Speed Internetand a 3* for $94 in Midtown Central with Smoke Free Rooms, High-Speed Internet Access, Kitchenette, and Accessibility options. I think this might be the Buckingham.

flyingscott Posted February 23, 2013 Author Report Posted February 23, 2013 Thank you, I used the HOTWIRE link.I'm looking for a comfortable place that my girlfriend and I can stay at after the show on Monday night. Things I am considering are proximity to 44th and Broadway and the overall rating/quality of the hotel; cleanliness, room size and appearance. For a star rating I would start at a 3 star. More than anything, price is a factor so I would look to spend no more than ~$130.I hope I'm not being to difficult, I'm just looking for a good date night hotel.I really appreciate the help, thank you!
thereuare Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 I only started with Times Square because I am seeing a show that night, but I am open to other areas and opinions. With NYC being so compact you could walk to many hotels/zones from the Theater District OR if you don't like to walk take a $10 cab ride... better to spend $10 on a taxi then pay more then you need to by only bidding one specific zone.HOTWIRE has a 3* hotel in the MTC zone for $108/nite that only shows a Hi-Speed Internet amenity. While this could easily be something else, the Ameritania has previously been seen with this amenity set so that would be my best guess for this one. Even if not a right guess, this property should meet your criteria of 'a good experience' as ti has a 4.0/5.0 TA rating, has 4.0 and 4.5 across the board for all the criteria HOTWIRE asks previous guests to rate, is well within your budget, and assuming we're correct on the hotel is walkable to Times Square and your theater.Your thoughts? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. flyingscott Posted February 24, 2013 Author Report Posted February 24, 2013 Yes, that looks great! But now I see that the 3.5* has changed to $118 and has Boutique Hotel, Restaurant(s), High-Speed Internet Access, Wheelchair accessible listed with a 75% rating. The Ameritania looks great, but if there is a chance I could get a hotel a little closer for $10 more, it's worth it to me.Thank you!
thereuare Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 The 3.5* Boutique Times Square property has not yet been reported to the board and i don't have any insight as to which one this may be.Not sure how familiar you are with NYC but 10 blocks is not a very far distance at all and is easily walkable. You can try entering the address of your desired location into our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com and zoom in on the map to see which hotels are closest to your desired address while also seeing how much more/less it cost to stay closer/further away OR to go up/down in star rating. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do or if we can be of further help.
