SG1 Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 This is the first time I am posting on here and would like to know what sort of hotel I would get on Price line. Am looking to go for 6 nights 27th March till 2nd April. I am coming from London and would like to stay in a nice hotel preferably 5 star rating on price line and am we are a family of 4, so would need 2 bedrooms. I have looked at Times Square Theater District and for 2 bedrooms I can get it for $1000. Does any one have a rough idea of the hotel, it says it comes with a swimming pool so that should narrow it down. Many Thanks in advance, your help is greatly appreciated. Any advice is also appreciated, as this is the first time I am using Price Line.
thereuare Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet please start by reading your messages.Few Questions:I am coming from London and would like to stay in a nice hotel preferably 5 star rating on price line and am we are a family of 4, so would need 2 bedrooms.Do you need a room with TWO bes in the room, 2 hotel rooms, or one hotel room that is a 'suite' and has two separate bedrooms and a living area?I have looked at Times Square Theater District and for 2 bedrooms I can get it for $1000. Does any one have a rough idea of the hotel, it says it comes with a swimming pool so that should narrow it down.On what part of PRICELINE's site are you seeing this... where you bid for a hotel OR in the PRICELINE EXPRESS area where the price is shown but not the hotel name? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. SG1 Posted February 22, 2013 Author Report Posted February 22, 2013 To be honest whatever is cheapest, so probably 2 hotel rooms., it shows me the price of $1000 for when I bid as the total price
thereuare Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 The Chatwal New York City is the only 5* hotel reported to the board in the Times Square zone so that would be my best guess.HOWEVER, a couple of things to note:I have looked at Times Square Theater District and for 2 bedrooms I can get it for $1000.At this point in the bidding PRICELINE PRICELINE has not yet checked for inventory for your dates, so don't interpret the $1000 that you're seeing as the price that you can win the hotel... this is simply a "review your bid information before we submit it and see if we can get you a hotel" (since hotels won thru PRICELINE are final and not cancelable, they're asking you to double check the information before submitting)Also, on the PRICELINE bidding page any amenities shown next to a given star rating are amenities that are available at ALL hotels in the zone at this star rating. As noted above, PRICELINE has not yet picked out a specific hotel in this zone nor even checked for inventory yet, so the 'guaranteed amenities' are not because these are amenities of a specific hotel that you're bidding on, but rather these are amenities that are offered at all hotels in the zone at this star rating. If you've selected 2 rooms and the total price is $1000 for this 6 nite stay, that is less than $100 per nite per room which will not even be i the right ballpark for a 5* hotel in Times Square (or this $1000 for only 1 room at the moment?) What is the bid price you entered in this box at this point? (and for how many rooms?)Feel free to ask any questions regarding the above and let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
