mustard
Looking to bid on a strip hotel for 3/20 - 3/24. Thinking about doing 4 star in Strip North and trying to get TI or Mirage (probably TI). Do you think I can get it for less than $100 a night during the first round of March Madness? Also, can I get help with the rebid zones? Link to comment

thereuare
When bidding 4* in Las Vegas you have FOUR re-bid zones (NOTE: Sumerlin is NOT one of them!). If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. If you've read the link about on re-bidding and are still confused try this:1) Use the PRICELINE search box on the upper right of this page, enter 'Las Vegas, NV' and your dates, and click "GO".2) List each zone that is offered in this region. 3) Next to each zone list the highest star rating offered in the zone. The way to determine the highest star rating offered in the zone is by selecting the first zone i the list, then scrolling down to see the highest star rating selectable (ie- not greyed out). NEXT UNcheck the selected zone, place a checkmark in the next zone, and repeat the process for each zone in the region. Each time you take note of the highest star rating in the zone, make sure that only ONE zone is selected above.4) post your findings and we'll take it from thereSee if you can confirm your FOUR re-bid zones with the board and we'll take it from there. If you don't follow the above just post back and we'll break it down further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. mustard
Looks like rebid zones for 4* are Boulder Strip, Henderson, NW Las Vegas, Nellis Las Vegas Speedway, and Summerlin? So there are 5 rebid zones, correct?Edit: Just saw where you said Summerlin isn't a rebid zone...why not? Romelle
Look way down at the bottom of the star list - RESORT is offered for Summerlin. Below the 1*.Resorts are considered higher than 4*s (lower than 5*s). Think of them sort of like 4.5*s. Priceline can "upgrade" you. So if you check Summerline that has Resort, and are bidding 4*, you could be upgraded into a Summerlin Resort hotel. While I understand the resorts out there are lovely places, they aren't a Las Vegas-type experience. RomellePS - there is the same danger when bidding Phoenix and some other places. And Priceline has no sympathy for this particular oops. Link to comment

thereuare
Your other re-bid zones are correct... but always double check just before bidding to make sure that nothing has changed. To only bid 4* on the Strip North zone you can try as follows:Select 4* Strip North...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. thereuare
As your original budget was $100/nite, and thus far you have only bid up to $80/nite, are you willing to now pay $100+ for this trip? Is there something in particular you're looking for from this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. mustard
Yes, I'll pay over $100/nt I'd just like to get it as cheap as possible through PRICELINE bidding. Link to comment
thereuare
My point is that price appears to be the primary factor, and so far you have only bid up to $80, so why not continue the PRICELINE bidding at least up to the price of the PRICELINE EXPRESS hotels? Is there something in particular that you're looking for that would cause you to pay $99 now (for a lesser rated hotel and off-strip) or $119 note ($40 more than you've currently bid) without first bidding on PRICELINE up to these rates? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. mustard
LVH has the best sportsbook in town and I'm going for March Madness so it is an option although I don't think I want to stay there.I've now bid up to $115 and still no win, do you think that express deal for $120 is Treasure Island? Link to comment
mustard
Got Treasure Island through an PRICELINE EXPRESS DEAL. Was able to confirm it was Treasure Island by a choice offered in room types, and was able to confirm through Treasure Island's website that those were the names of the rooms they had. Only other option would have been Mirage and the room types didn't match.I used the sites PRICELINE links when purchasing. Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and are pleased with the results. The Mirage's Sports Book was the first one that i has ever seen and i'm still mesmerized every time i see it, even if it may not be the best or most modern by today's standards.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding. Enjoy your stay... and don't bet against Michigan. ;) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
