I'm not sure what (if anything) is happening in the city during these dates but rates currently look on the higher side.

HOTWIRE has a 4.5* property in the Downtown zone for $132/nite with:

Free Internet

Fitness

Restaurant

Business

Hi-Speed Internet

Room Accessible

Bathroom Accessible

Roll-in Shower

... best guess for this property is the well reviewed Le Pavillon, which would seem like a pretty good deal relative to the other rates i'm seeing.

I would increase your bids up to $130 on your next round of bidding and if rejected take the HOTWIRE offer (of if you would like to try and target the Le Pavillon and it's worth an extra $10/nite for you to have a 4.5/5.0 TA rated hotel vs. receiving any hotel in the zone, then just take the HOTWIRE deal now)

Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.

Good luck!

Just took a look on Hotwire and can't see a downtown 4.5* for $132. I'm seeing it at $187. Can you tell me how you got that? I'd be fine at 132/nt. I can't find anything special going on that weekend either, but something must be bc prices seem to be up.

I know the Ironman competition is going on that weekend, but not sure what else is happening that would drive up the prices. I'm going 4/20-4/23 and topped out 4* at $130 and 3.5* at 120 with no luck. Used the HOTWIRE link from above and got a 4* at $125 which ended up being the Sheraton. Just posting so you don't have to try bidding 120/125/130 in case you still want to go with priceline.

Tried to priceline it again, going up to $150 with no luck. Decided to get creative, and found a decent solution that still saved me some $.

Hotwire had a 4.5* for $163/nt from 4/17-21. If I changed the date to 4/17-20, it dropped to a more reasonable $132/nt. So I got that through hotwire. Then, since we leave relatively early on saturday morning, I pricelined a 3.5* airport hotel for $85 and got it right away. Not perfect, but I think it saved a little bit. Thanks for all the help.

I just got Le Pavillon Hotel 4-13-13 to 4-19-13 for $124 per night on HOTWIRE. In one day though, the hotel, which is obviously the same one you were looking at went for $130 per night, which I told my girlfriend about and she said I should grab, to $230 per night the next morning when I went to grab it, to $124 per night late last night/currently. The offers seem to swing wildly over a short period of time. So my suggestion is to watch the site as I did and grab the hotel when it is on the low end of the swing.
