Joe S Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 Used the advice and links here on the board to do a re-bid from $65 to $100, increasing the bid by $5 each time, and I was surprised to get the InterContinental Miami for $100 on my last re-bid!!! Looking forward to the hotel and wondering what will be in walking distance or what are the best activities to do before a cruise with my 18 year old daughter. Appreciate any suggestions. Joe

floridaguy Posted February 19, 2013 Report Posted February 19, 2013 Joe -Great location! There's an open-air mall, Bayside, between your hotel and the port that's a great place to stroll and people-watch. You have a free people-mover station across the street that can take you around much of downtown. There are quite a few nice places to eat out in the Brickell area (south of your hotel). If you're so inclined, the performing arts center is just a few blocks to the north (but you'll probably prefer to take the people-mover there). If you want to visit South Beach without paying for a taxi, you can take the people-mover to the Omni bus terminal and take a bus there to South Beach. Make sure you look up route and schedule information online before you go.Hope that helps some! - floridaguy
