armstrom Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 Bidding strategy was a bit hap-hazard since I was very flexible as to location. I'm simply making a quick weekend getaway to London and just wanted to be near the city center and a tube station. So I started my bidding at $60 in Westminster, I believe, and kept adding city center zones (I was prepared to add a couple of farther-flung zones that did not have 4 star hotels but it didn't come to that). Bid in $5 increments and hit the Holiday Inn at $85 ($212 total including taxes and fees). This is a great price for this hotel ($212 vs. ~$330 for the same dates with a traditional booking!)Thanks again for the work that goes into this site. I learned the rebid technique here several years ago and have saved a TON of money on hotels over the years. I normally forget to post my wins here but thought I would share this one since there aren't a lot of London wins posted.-Matt
