trankd88 Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 Hey all,This is my first time bidding on Priceline (or anywhere, really). I've been reading this thread and trying to understand how to utilize the permutation bidding method for the better part of a week now. I'm trying to bid on two (2) rooms and staying under $100 per room before dropping star levels. As far as I know, it's around spring break time and that Saturday (March 17) is St. Patrick's Day. Please advise me on what I should do next. Thank you.Here's what I've tried so far:4 STAR1= $532= $543= $604= $615= $626= $637= $648= $659= $6610= $6711= $7012= $7313= $8014= $8515= $8716= $9517= $100EDIT 2:18= $10519= $11020= $1153.5 STAR1= $702= $753= $854= $903 STAR1= $852= $100EDIT 1:2 STAR1= $90 REJECTEDEDIT 3:3 STAR DOWNTOWN1= $852= $100 REJECTED
thereuare Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! With it being Spring Break, and probably more importantly St. Patricks Day, hotels in the French Quarter will likely be in high demand which equates to higher prices, and many of them can likely fill a large percentage of their rooms on their own, so there is little reason to offer a deep discount thru the opaque channels.Using MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to for a hotel inside the French Quarter zone? (you can search for "1 mile within French Quarter New Orleans"... then look at the map to find the lowest rate inside the Quarter)Although i don't know how much it will help your $100 budget, have you considered including other zones such as Downtown which is pretty much walkable to the Quarter? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Rejected at $100. Guess I'll have to wait to for the 24 hours and try again.
