Msh3ll Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 Hello, Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? I'm going to be in tampa TOMORROW until the 22nd, all last night I tried bidding and priceline wouldn't bite, up until $89. I'm choosing sections 1 (Westshore) and 4 (airport west). I've gone up and down in star rating from 3.5-4, and nothing. Is it maybe because it's 5 nights? Or maybe because monday night is a holiday? Any suggestions? I would really love not having to pay full price :( Thanks!
Msh3ll Posted February 16, 2013 Author Report Posted February 16, 2013 So after multiple (+20) attempts, I finally decided to try a smaller period of time - and was successful in bidding 3.5* in westshore area for $52 a night (17-19 of february). I suppose while I'm there monday I'll try again for the rest of the time.

Msh3ll Posted February 18, 2013 Author Report Posted February 18, 2013 Thanks, any tips on st. petersburg/clearwater? Looking to see if I can jump there from the 19-21st. I've tried areas 1, 2 & 3, varying in choices and started in the high $40s and went up to $67 until I gave up. PS: the crown plaza is okay, we got a handicapped room so there's no tub (which is okay) but the view is of a roof and the blinds are old and broken.. but, for $52 you can't complain too much.

This is easily done if there are tangible things wrong with the room that you can point out to the hotel staff (dirt, something broken, etc)... most hotel staff will do what they can to make a guest happy/comfortable, and they may give out a handicapped room (to somebody who does not need it) assuming that the guest will not complain, but are are prepared to switch the room upon request. If you need help with a St Petersburg stay please start a NEW TOPIC.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Msh3ll Posted February 18, 2013 Author Report Posted February 18, 2013 Okay, I started a new topic for clearwater/st. peterburg however, I'd still like to look at this area again and it seems I'm having the same issue as previously. Trying to book the 19th-22nd. I've done bid after bid ($50-75) with no results in the westshore area. Looking at 3.5*-4*. Any tips?
thereuare Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 We organize the board by each 'stay' (a purchase at the same hotel for continuous nites) in the same thread. As this thread already reflects your purchase for 2/17-2/19, please keep all posts pertaining to the next leg of your trip, 2/19-2/22 in your newly created Priceline St Petersburg/Clearwater Beach thread. Also, the dates in your new topic appear to be 2/19-2/21 which are different then you posted above of 2/19-2/22, when replying there please also clarify which set of dates you're looking at.Thanks.
