thereuare Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding!Exactly which zones, by PRICELINE name, did you select when you bid? What is your maximum bid for this trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
relhby789 Posted February 13, 2013 Author Report Posted February 13, 2013 I marked ALL zones. I made offer 130 $ plus taxesNo luck
thereuare Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 There are FIFTEEN zones in the DC area, including those in the suburbs which do have 3* hotels priced less then you have bid, please clarify exactly which zones, by PRICELINE name, you including in your bidding. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Romelle Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 Try HOTWIRE - the upper left hand corner on this site. It doesn't use a bidding process, but rather simply lists a rate and you either accept it or not. Sometimes HOTWIRE has availability that PRICELINE doesn't. Just fill in your dates and Washington, DC and see what they have to offer. Two advantages to HOTWIRE: 1 - if you post back the details of an offer, the experts here can often make a good guess as to just what hotel you will receive. 2 - you can select for specific amenities like "free breakfast" or "pool" or "free internet".Romelle
relhby789 Posted February 14, 2013 Author Report Posted February 14, 2013 Many thanks Ford replies. Yes, I confirm, that I marked all 15 zones via PRICELINE, no Luck. HOTWIRE looks much cheaper for me. But I would like to understand, why 130$ +taxes doesn't work for all 15 DC zones
thereuare Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 Without looking over your shoulder while you did the bidding i really can't say what the issue is.Are you able view any offers at PRICELINE EXPRESS (which also has hotel offers at the star rating you selected for less than you had bid)... if there is anything of interest there, is your purchase able to be completed? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Romelle Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 There is a PRICELINE EXPRESS 3.5* Arlington for $98 and and a 3* Crystal City for $129 for the dates. Some other more remote ones also under $130. It is curious why relhby789 wasn't successful with the 3* bidding up to $130.I would think another try at PRICELINE bidding might be in order. But maybe starting about $90 with just the inner circle zones checked, and then gradually increasing while adding more remote zones. With PRICELINE EXPRESS showing availability, it seems highly likely there is also bidding availability.Romelle
