Alexy Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 I'm travelling to Vegas from 3/29/13 to 4/1/13, am using hotwire, and am looking at five star hotels in the strip-north and the strip-south areas. The hotels I'm looking at are:Hotel 1:Strip SouthPrice: 107 (195 other sites)User Recommendation: 90%Amenities:Free Parking Free Internet Suite Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-in showerI'm pretty sure this is the Four Seasons, but would definitely appreciate a second opionion.Hotel 2:Strip SouthPrice: 132 (no competitor pricing)User Recommendation: 90%Amenities:Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-in showerLooking at recent posts, I was thinking this was the Mandarin Oriental; but it's lacking the "Wheelchair accessible/Wheelchair accessible common areas" amenities, and only has a 90% recommendation instead of the 100% other users are reporting.Hotel 3:Strip NorthPrice: 132(171 on other sites)User Recommendation: 90%Amenities:Resort Free Parking Suite Casino Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Guessing this is the Venetian or Palazzo, but again, would appreciate a second opinion. On a side note, just discovered this site today, and it's awesome! I've definitely been making sure to click on the hotwire/PRICELINE links whenever I've been opening more pages. Also, just wanted to mention it looks like the Mandarin Oriental accidentally got added to the Hotwire Hotel List under the North Strip section, instead of the South Strip Section.Let me know what you guys think, I definitely appreciate any replies.
thereuare Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Best guess for each:Hotel 1:Strip SouthPrice: 107 (195 other sites)User Recommendation: 90%Vdara or Four SeasonsHotel 2:Strip SouthPrice: 132 (no competitor pricing)User Recommendation: 90%I think this may be a previously reported hotel 'hiding' some of its amenities, but i don't think it's likely the Mandarin Oriental as that property is fairly new to the HOTWIRE system and this current offer is showing 500+ reviews... i'm doubtful that the Mandarin has this many reviews so far.Hotel 3:Strip NorthPrice: 132(171 on other sites)User Recommendation: 90%Venetian or Palazzo, although i'd slightly favor the Venetian being the more likely of the two i'm current seeing when searching HOTWIRE for your datesThanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. Alexy Posted February 12, 2013 Author Report Posted February 12, 2013 Great, thanks, it's much appreciated! Also, after I posted, HOTWIRE changed and put up a competitor's price of 195 for Hotel #2. I was thinking possibly the Bellagio, but any idea what else it might be?
thereuare Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 The referenced priced you're referring to is not necessarily the price of the hotel that is being offered, but rather an average rate of one or more hotels of the same star rating and in the same zone and for the same dates... it's not useful in trying to determine the name of a hotel offered. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Alexy Posted February 12, 2013 Author Report Posted February 12, 2013 Ahhh, makes more sense now, thanks! But as the question stands, it could pretty much be any of the five star hotels?
thereuare Posted February 12, 2013 Report Posted February 12, 2013 Ahhh, makes more sense now, thanks! But as the question stands, it could pretty much be any of the five star hotels? With no amenities listed all that is known about the hotel is that it is 5* rated by HOTWIRE, and therefore could be any hotel that HOTWIRE deems worth of a 5* rating. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 What about the other 5* hotels offered by HOTWIRE...any interested in them? What is it exactly that you're looking for from this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
