OK with Central Park South, Chelsea, Empire State Building, midtown east, midtwon west, times square, Soho.

Ideally spending less than $100/night

I don't think that $100 is likely enough for a 4* hotel for these dates, but if you'd like to give it a try:

When bidding 4* in NYC you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* CPS, Chelsea, ESB, MTE, MTW, TS and Soho...

Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $88, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $100

I've been bidding (through these PRICELINE links) for the same dates all week stopping at $90 for 3*'s. All areas of Manhattan except for Morningside Heights/Harlem, so far no luck.

I've got a cancellable reservation at a 2/2.5* UWS hotel I've stayed at before that is perfectly acceptable, so I'm not willing to go higher in price. I'm hoping I might get a slightly nicer place for the same price as the dates get closer, but it would appear that your $100 for a 4* is too optimistic.
