MYbb126 Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Hey Guys, First time on this board and first time PRICELINE bidder. Ive been trying to bid on a room at the Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach using the add zone additional zones without a 4* available method and its working great, there are 5 other zones with no 4* however I cant seem to get my bids accepted. I am already bidding at $215 for a room which has a $280 published rate and it wont accept. any advice?
AaronJB Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. There is no way to bid for a particular property when using PRICELINE. If you are bidding for a 4* in a particular zone, you have to be willing to accept any hotel within the zone at that star rating. Additionally, there is no way to know if a particular hotel has inventory on the discounted side of the service; it's up to the hotel whether to offer discounted inventory. Please confirm your date/s of travel, desired budget per night and what bids you have made so far. Thanks. :)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
MYbb126 Posted February 8, 2013 Author Report Posted February 8, 2013 Thank you for your reply, I am waware that a specific hotel cant be chosen however with htere only being to 4* hotels in Hollywood Beach I would be ok getting either one (the Crowne being the lesser published rate). DO hotels periodicly add inventory to the discounted side? dates of travel 2/12-2/18.I started bidding at 189197199203207215
thereuare Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 DO hotels periodicly add inventory to the discounted side? dates of travel 2/12-2/18.Yes, hotels add and remove inventory based upon the supply/demand (reservations/cancellations) for the given dates. One of your issues may be that your stay takes place over Valentine's Day which is typically a very busy nite for hotels. If the hotel is very busy, they may not offer any deeply discounted inventory to the opaque suppliers for this nite, and as a result this hotel would be out of the running to accept your bid since PRICELINE does not have inventory available for the entire length of your stay. What would be your maximum bid for this trip? Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
bmw745ion19s Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 just saw your dates of travel, I just scheduled a 1 night hotel for tonight and saw one of these 4*s listed at $119 a night in this zone on HOTWIRE. Valentines day and the winter season probably has a lot to do with the high prices.everywhere in South Florida is sky high, even more then normal for this time of year. just look at Boca Raton's section if you want a good laugh.is there any reason you are set on this exact hotel? ive stayed here recently as well as others near by, this particular hotel is comfortable and clean but not all that great. While it was fine for my purpose, and Id be ok with an overnight stay again, I wouldnt say its a 4* as rated.
