Kingaidan Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 Hello,This is my first time using this so I'm hoping someone can help me in the best way to bid for a 5* hotel in north strip. (Venetian, palazzo, Wynn, ?)I've never used Priceline before and was wondering what hotels would qualify for north Vegas strip. Also what would be a reasonable bid and the best way to get a good deal in that area? I saw a recent post from someone who got the palazzo at about 140 for the Feb 15th weekend. I'd be very happy to get that rate. Thanks for the help.

Kingaidan Posted February 5, 2013 Author Report Posted February 5, 2013 Thank you for the tip. Is the $100 ending bid your suggestion or would you suggest a different ending amount for a 5* hotel. I'm pretty set on getting a room in north Vegas it's just a matter of getting the lowest price possible. I wrote down the 11 zones and will try it. Also would you suggest that I wait or bid ASAp? Thanks again!
Romelle Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 If you start with the pattern thereuare gave you, and aren't successful by the time you get to $100, all you have to do is wait a full 24 hours and then bid some more. This time start with $101 and use the same process with small increments as you add in each new free rebid zone. If you increase by $2 you will work your way up to your max that day. If you only increase by $1 it will take you a couple days. But I'd guess you will be successful before that. I don't think the suggestion was to quit with $100 if it didn't work, but rather to carefully explore the lower rates so you don't overbid. And apparently your dates are not terribly expensive dates. Especially at the lower range, why not try it now?Romelle
thereuare Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 There is a 5 star Strip North property on HOTWIRE for $100 that shows a Casino amenity which indicates that it's not the Trump... i was going to investigate that one further if the bidding above failed.I would bid now as anything you win for $100 or less in this zone has very little downside or prices moving too much lower... there is greater risk that prices would move higher. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
