jchoeca Posted February 7, 2013 Author Report Posted February 7, 2013 The hotel's conference rooms, the lobby, and the general facility are in shape with a beautiful indoor pool and very cordial staffs (sometime a bit way too much). However, they have horrible rooms. It is a 4 star hotel if you are high paying guests; otherwise, you get Servant Quarters through winning bids from Priceline. Walls are so thin that you can hear people talking from the next door room; windows do not close properly so cold air comes in as well as street noises. There are bad paint jobs on the moldings and the walls; carpets are well worn and look aged (they were clean though); an old and dirty looking bed skirt; old lightings that are falling apart; a shower handle that doesn't close well and with hot water going the direction from the label; a phone with missing label; broken shutters; ... The bedroom looks nothing like the picture from their website. REALLY. Priceline shouldn't call it a 4 star. I'm writing this review at 5AM in the morning because the talking noise from the next door people kept me up after they kept me awake with the loud laughter and talking.I would not bid on a 4 star hotel in downtown LA as long as there is a risk of winning this property.
thereuare Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 Sorry to hear you're not enjoying your stay.Assuming you had these issues since checking-in a few days ago did you ask at the front desk for a room change? Do you know in fact that there are 'better' rooms available and some rooms were recently renovated an other not? If there was an issue with the window not closing and cold air is coming in, that would certainly be enough to warrant a room change, but the chances of the walls being thicker and more soundproof on other floors is not very likely. It's easy to say that you got a 'priceline room' but it's also possible that nothing else was available at the time you checked-in, or the clerk simply felt like giving you this particular room, and that if you had asked to be moved that they would have readily done so. I've been at hotels where i've seen guests who booked direct with the hotel not receive their request for a non-smoking room, as sometimes that just the 'luck of the draw', but if that person had booked thru PRICELINE, HOTWIRE, or any other 3rd party booking service it would be easy to say that they didn't get their preference due to the online booking agency they booked thru (and would be difficult to prove otherwise).Hope you're future stays are more to your liking. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
