Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Please change the drop down menu on the top right of HOTWIRE's page to United States and the currency dropdown to US Dollars. Then continue to search HOTWIRE and post to the board in US Dollars so that rates are consistent and not subject to interpretation due to future currency fluctuation. Once you're ready to purchase stay on the US version of their site and simply change the drop down menu to whatever currency you'd like to use and complete your purchase.

Additionally, in terms of making another suggestion, what are you looking for in terms of hotel? Desired budget? Finally, how many adults/children will be in each room?

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

For help with these two properties please provide the full list of amenities that HOTWIRE associates with each (NOTE: to see the full list of a amenities click the red SHOW ME button next to each offering (the one with the price in it) and then on the ensuing page click the 'See all amenities' link))

Also, if you're not, please do your search with 4rooms/8adults as sometimes the offerings will be different if you're searching for more than one room.

Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.

PS- you're in good hands as AaronJB it local to the area and will be able to help you with what is the best bang for your buck and the pros/cons of any of the offers.

Please list only the amenities, without descriptions, as it's much easier to read and not miss an amenity when reviewing information.

The 4* Loop would likely be the Palmer House Hilton. This is a very, very historic property that offers what is probably one of the most beautiful lobbies in the US (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Palmer_hilton.jpg), but rooms are small. The Loop area is fine during the day, but it can be pretty quiet after dark. If you plan to be out later, you may want to take a cab back.

The 3.5* Mag Mile-River North listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but may be a new amenity set for the Club Quarters Wacker/Michigan or the River Hotel (which are both in the same building and essentially the same hotel.) IF this is the Club Quarters Wacker/Michigan or River Hotel, that's a very nice/central location but rooms are small.

I also see a 3.5* in the Mag Mile North-Water Tower area for $125 (the price you see may vary slightly) w/

Smoke Free Rooms

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

High-Speed Internet Access

Tennis Nearby

Accessible for the blind

Accessible for the deaf

Accessible path of travel

In-room accessibility

Accessible bathroom

Handicapped parking

Roll-in shower

That listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but I'd guess the Crowne Plaza Avenue is highly likely as a possibility. That is a fine location if you plan to be out later at night, as it's not far to the Gold Coast or River North nightlife areas and is right by Michigan Ave. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby and more going on at night than if you are in the Loop area.

Please let us know if you have additional hotel questions before booking and if you have any city questions.

Thank you for all your help. I like the ideal of staying close to the night life as we are looking for a fun weekend. I really like the last one you found The Crowne Plaza Avenue . Would you say it is the better of the 3. Thanks again for all your help

This listing has not yet been ID'd, but given the pool amenity, I think the Crowne Plaza Avenue is a likely possibility:

Smoke Free Rooms

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

High-Speed Internet Access

Tennis Nearby

Accessible for the blind

Accessible for the deaf

Accessible path of travel

In-room accessibility

Accessible bathroom

Handicapped parking

Roll-in shower

The Crowne Plaza Avenue was previously reported to the board with this amenity set (Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Tennis), so this would appear to be the same amenity set with the addition of accessible amenities. It was previously reported to the board as a 4*, but it's been a long time since the hotel was reported to the board and it may have been downgraded to 3.5* since.

While not a guarantee, if you look on the detail page for the listing, there should also be a 4/5 tripadvisor rating showing (tripadvisor logo with 4/5 circles shaded.)

It is more expensive than the $111 possible Palmer, but if you are going to be out later at night, then staying at the Palmer would more likely require a cab ride back, which would require additional cost.

In general, if you are going to be out later at night (restaurants, nightlife, etc) I'd recommend staying North of the river.
