LoneStar
La Quinta is running a promo through the Texas tourist board offering rooms from $45 to $75. Seems that about half the 100 or so Texas La Quinta's are participating, and since the major cities often have several locations, you can often find one priced in the $40s. For example, I found one in Austin for $45, where the property's next cheapest rate was in the $70s.La Quinta's are a pretty reliable overnight choice, and you get a free expanded continental breakfast. I think Hotwire and especially Priceline will beat these rates on comparable hotels in most cases (although not always), but it gives you a good benchmark on what to bid, and an alternative if the opaque services aren't working for you.La Quinta Discount Link to comment
