azisme Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 I am looking for a room in Paris in the Latin Quarter-Sorbonne area, or possibly in either the St Germain or Notre Dame area. I would prefer something in the $100 to $150 range before fees. I can go higher if it looks like something I really want. My dates are April 2-6 of 2013. I have used Priceline before, but never Hotwire. With the prevalence of small double beds in Paris I don't feel comfortable bidding on Priceline. My question is what is the best source for me to learn how to make a reasonably educated guess on what hotels are being offered? I checked the Hotel List on this site but do not see a heading for the Latin Quarter. Any help is greatly appreciated.
azisme Posted January 30, 2013 Author Report Posted January 30, 2013 OK, I can already see I listed my price limits too low. When I started researching each property currently shown for Latin Quarter on Hotwire these are the properties that were displayed:$151 - 3.5*3.5-star Hotel in Latin Quarter - SorbonneFree Internet Boutique Hotel Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access $157 - 3* $2113-star Hotel in Latin Quarter – SorbonneFree Breakfast High-Speed Internet Access $161 – 2*2-star Hotel in Latin Quarter - SorbonneFree Internet Smoke Free Rooms High-Speed Internet Access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom $206 – 4*No Amenities ListedThe only one that would be out of my range would be the $206 property.
thereuare Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 ... but would you also want a 2* hotel? (especially in Europe where the star ratings are a bit more generous then their US counterparts)My guess for the 3.5* property would be the Villa Pantheon... unfortunately i don't have a guess for the 3* hotel. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
