Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip North) The Venetian

First thank you for all the thorough information! I have stumbled here a number of times booking a few random vacations but this time I'm really going for Priceline. Read up on the rebidding process and everything today and checked the win calendar for my travel dates. Here it goes:

Dates: 4/5-4/9 (firm--flight is booked)

Location: Las Vegas Strip North (possibly South)

I was told by a friend that Trump is too far to be very convenient to the rest of the group (we have multiple parties going on this trip making individual hotel reservations). The couple putting this together is staying at the Mirage so ideally we'd like to be close to them. We have both stayed at the property formerly known as the PH Towers and it still appears to be a bargain but the reviews suggest it's even more of a frat party atmosphere than when I went for a bachelorette trip two years ago. Hotwire has a South 5* for $161 currently (Vdara/4Seasons amenities) so I know I can do better than the PH Towers! Though the South properties could be a potential hike to the Mirage.

When I finally understood the strip map better it seems like a Strip-North 5* on Priceline would be a better match location wise. The calendar says there have been two Palazzo wins for $130 and $140 for similar dates. Using the re-bid strategy I bid from $100-$130 in $5 increments and didn't get a bite. When considering resort fees, I'd like to keep the base daily rate $130 or less but we are splitting the price down the middle.

So is it worth holding out and trying again for a North side 5* and maybe trying another $10-20 (up to $150 in smaller increments) after my 24 hours? Or would I have better luck on the south end? I also discovered today that there's a Michael Jordan Celebrity Golf Tourney the same weekend using the Aria so maybe this is driving prices up?

EDIT: re-submitted for $130, 133 and 135 North. Still nothing. :(

Found the link for the $10 cash bonus award for stays over 3 days and re-bid Strip-North & Henderson with $130 plus $10 bonus cash. Did not expect the Venetian! Such a step up from my only other trip to Vegas in the PH Tower and right across the street from our friends in the Mirage!
