Hi, I'm looking for a hotel room from 2/3 - 2/6. Looking for at least 3 stars, how would I go about this?

On Hotwire there is a spot Cape Coral - North Ft. Myers area hotel for $68/night

So anything below that price would be fine for me.

Thanks!

Hmm okay then is there an area that is not too far from the RSW airport? I was thinking Cape Coral because it is not too far, I also have to rent a car.

If there are good options in the area then I would like to try and get the best deal on priceline, if not then I'll have to just book the 3* at $68/night.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this...

I couldn't find a hotel on the HOTWIRE list that matched the area.

Can you help me narrow down the 3* hotel in the Cape Coral - North Ft. Myers area.

Best guess for this HOTWIRE property would be the Holiday Inn Express Cape Coral (which is 2.5* rated on PRICELINE)

If you need to be near the airport why not PRICELINE's (South Ft Myers and Airport RSW) zone?

Thanks for the guess!

Doesn't have to be by the airport, just flying into RSW then looking to stay at a spot close to a nice beach. Very unfamiliar with the area :(

Then why not the Fort Myers Beach zone?

I don't know the area that well but i'd also research Sanibel and Captiva Islands and Napels Central... both look like they will get you fairly close to the coast, but i just don't know if there are public beaches on this coastline or not.

Hey thanks for the suggestion, I think Ft. Meyers beach and the Sanibel and Captiva Islands look nice. Seems like a lot of public beaches :) So a property there would be fine, I would like a 3* below that might be a bit too sketchy.

But from a quick search, these areas seems much more expensive (double)?

I didn't look at rates since i didn't know if these zones would be acceptable or not, but as long as they are acceptable you can/should include them as it will give you more re-bidding opportunities, and the ability to increase your bids at smaller increments within each bidding cycle.

The following has very little chance, but if you want to give it a try:

When bidding 3* in the Fort Myers region you have ONE re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Ft. Meyers Beach and Sanibel and Captiva Islands

Select 3* Ft. Meyers Beach...

Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $65, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE

Select 3* Sanibel and Captiva Islands ...

Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $65, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE

Select 3* Ft. Meyers Beach and Sanibel and Captiva Islands ...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $75

Any questions feel free to ask.

If there is little chance of this, then what is a better option? I am open to driving from RSW to Pompano, Ft. Lauderdale, or Miami. As long as I can get something within the budget. The rental car through HOTWIRE for a Mid-Size is $29.95/day so $125.21 total. My max budget for car and hotel is $450. Is there anyway to get a better deal on a car? From what I remember last time, there isn't really much room there, usually...

That leaves me with ~ $325 for three nights, $108/night (after tax), so max bid 88? 90?

Would it be better to try for a hotel in Pompano, Ft. Lauderdale, or Miami? Trying to maximize stars for least price in any of those areas

You may be able to share a few dollars off of the HOTWIRE car rental rate by using PRICELINE.

And just as you've done with the car rental rate thru HOTWIRE (using this as a 'known' price and worst case scenario) you can do the same with HOTWIRE for hotels... try searching your other alternate areas and see if anything is offered within (or at least close to) your budget.

You can also use our Priceline Maps, filter for just the month of February (or include Jan and March for more results) and look at historical pricing in the various zones that appear when you search for Miami, Fort Lauderdale, etc.

Okay I used Priceline Maps and figured out that 4* in the Beach area of Ft Lauderdale has a chance at the max bid of $88 if not slightly less (was not sure if the price shown was rate per night total or the bid price). I would like to try to bid that for 2/3 - 2/5 and then for 2/6 in Cape Coral 3*.

Thanks!

When bidding 4* in Fort Lauderdale you have FIVE re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* Ft Lauderdale Beach...

Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $88

Now, how can I get the 1 night in Coral Springs, FL (Feb. 5 - 6)? On Hotwire I see a 3* for $68 a night and a 2.5* for $66 a night in the Cape Coral - North Ft. Myers area.

It would be great to get a 3* for less than 68/night in the Cape Coral - North Ft. Myers area.

Acceptable Zones: Cape Coral, Fort Meyers, Fort Myers Beach, Gateway to the Islands, Sanibel & Captiva Islands, South Ft Myers & Airport (RSW)

Thanks for all the help!
