yovicki Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 I've been trying for this weekend for about 5 days now. I'm sure it will be busy for St Pat's so I am fairly happy with this price. It is still lower that what I have seen on HW and PL. I used the method that I read about on this wesite. I chose a 4* and then added areas that didn't contain a 4* hotel to increase the times I could bid. I had many bids over 5 days. Today I started at 101,111,121,131,144 and got it at 161 with a fee of 94.27 for the 3 days.

yovicki Posted March 3, 2013 Author Report Posted March 3, 2013 I am dissapointed to just find out from The Saint that they are going to charge an additional 50.00 per day to "upgrade " to a room with 2 queen beds. They also have a 38.00 per day parking charge (this part I was aware of shortly after the bid and can possibly find alternative parking)But feel the "upgrade" charge for the room is a bit out of line. Because we have 4 people though, I don't have a choice.
thereuare Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 Even on the hotel's own website they charge $40 more per nite for a room with 2 beds vs. a room with 1 bed, so while $40 would be a more 'fair' price, the $50 isn't as out of line as you may think. Some hotels won't let you upgrade and given this hotel is currently sold-out for your dates, i think you're lucky that they are able to accommodate you. In the future to assure quad occupancy without any additional fees use HOTWIRE which allows you to search for up to quad occupancy and assures sleeping accommodations for everyone you included in your search (and while this usually means two beds, note that the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed or a rollaway brought into the room)If you haven't done so already please read your messages, and please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
