Hello,

I have booked flights into Newark from the UK on 4th May to 11th May with a friend. We are really hoping for a room with two separate beds, being two lads. Do you think this is possible to get if we book through priceline?

Also what areas would you recommend booking for if we are interested in staying somewhere that would be reasonably easy to get back to after a night out? (not sure where we will be going clubbing yet!)

Budget would be up to about £100 a room so i guess this is about $150 at the moment.

Many Thanks

Welcome to Betterbidding.

Is your budget $150 + taxes/fees per night or $150 (including taxes/fees?)

Midtown East, Empire State Building, Chelsea-MSG are among good Midtown zone options - I wouldn't suggest Times Square, which is usually both the busiest and most expensive of the zones.

Two beds is unlikely when using PRICELINE in NYC. NYC rooms (even at higher star ratings) are often smaller-than-average to the point where some rooms may be too small even for a rollaway. Rooms with two beds are often a paid upgrade at NYC hotels. Using HOTWIRE and indicating more than 2 people in the room should ensure more than 1 bed (2 beds or 1 + rollaway or 1 + sofabed, etc), but if you use HOTWIRE and indicate 2 adults and 2 children (even if there aren't two children), options will likely be more expensive (although still cheaper than retail.) This period is likely going to be busy/fairly expensive due to the nicer weather (and there may be some college graduations around early-to-mid May.)

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Hello,

Many thanks for the quick reply. To clarify, my budget is $150 plus taxes and I would like a 3* upwards. Hotwire looks a little out of my budget for a midtown hotel.

There does not seem to be too much about in terms of rooms on priceline at the moment either...

Any tips would be great.

Also I cannot bid in priceline in dollars as I cannot give it my correct address so your links dont seem to work for me. It will only allow me to give a US or Canada address
