And there was a long line to get out of the parking garage. Not quite enough of a delay to warrant lodging a formal complaint, but it was a bother. The car shortage may explain the higher necessary bid price than I have previously seen.

Sorry to hear there wasn't a vehicle ready for you, but this almost certainly explains the higher rates you saw for this rental period.
