goulet Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 I booked this hotel two weeks ago on Priceline and it was listed as being three stars and a half. I checked Priceline this morning to book it again for this weekend but it is now listed as being three stars only. What strategy should I use to get it again? It seemed easier to book with the extra half star given its location. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
goulet Posted January 15, 2013 Author Report Posted January 15, 2013 I'm getting 72.17$ for a hotel downtown on my dates. Looking at the amenities (accessible for the blind), my possibilities are the Gouverneurs, 2 Holiday Inns and a Hilton. Any thoughts? AaronJB Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 Please post the prior Gouverneur stay as a separate thread. There is no way to ensure a particular property when bidding - one has to be willing to accept any property at the star rating chosen in the zone/s chosen (and the bid may be upgraded to the next star rating higher.)In terms of the HOTWIRE listing, please change the country dropdown to United States and the currency tab in the upper corner of HOTWIRE and switch to USD$, then reply to this thread with the per night cost (before taxes/fees) in USD$.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

goulet Posted January 15, 2013 Author Report Posted January 15, 2013 Done. What I want to know is if on Priceline, I definitely won't get the Gouverneur if I bid on 3 1/2 * in the Latin quarter area since its now a 3* hotel?
AaronJB Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 If this property has been downgraded to 3* - and it would appear to have been, given the 3* rating on the retail side - then you would not get it if you bid 3.5*.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

It is still listed as a 3 1/2 * on Hotwire though. On Hotwire, for my dates I see a 3 1/2 * hotel for 72.23 with the amenities below. Could it be the gouverneur? The Holiday Inns or the Deltas are other possibilities...Indoor pool(s) <amenity names only please... not descriptions>Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply.Pool(s) Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal.Restaurant(s) Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary.Business Center Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply.High-Speed Internet Access Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply.Accessible for the blind Braille or raised signageAccessible path of travel <amenity names only please... not descriptions>In-room accessibility Accessible path from the room entrance to the window, the bed and the bathroom; accessible hardware and minimal resistance to open the door; accessible temperature controls and window coveringsAccessible bathroom Raised toilet, hand-held shower and grab bars at the tub and toiletHandicapped parking <amenity names only please... not descriptions>Recommended:In 65% of Hotwire customer reviews.
goulet Posted January 16, 2013 Author Report Posted January 16, 2013 Any guesses on the Hotwire 3 1/2* hotel? The price is fluctuation and the rating is now down to 65%
