Priceline Hotel: Fort Lauderdale Weston Sawgrass Mills - help! First time user!

Hello!

I've read some posts related to my goal, tried to follow the steps, but have not succeeded yet.

I'm trying to book a 3,5* hotel at least near Sawgrass Mills, Fort Lauderdale and want to pay $75 - $80 at most.

How do you suggest I bid at PRICELINE?

What steps have you tried so far, in terms of star rating, zone and bid? Which zone/s would be acceptable?

First of all tks for helping.

Well, I actually need a hotel during two different period of times, before and after a cruising.

The first period I'd like it to be near Sawgrass Mills, in Sunrise, Fort Lauderdale. It would be for 2 nights (Apr 26th and 27th).

I've searched in Hotels.com and there is a La Quinta Inn for $85 which is really near Sawgrass. And it is really well evaluated. So yesterday I tried to give some shots from $60-$75 on 3,5* and 4* without any success.

I accept to pay $100 (including priceline taxes) for 3,5* at least. The acceptable area would be:

1) West Ft Lauderdale - Sawgrass Mills Area

2) West Ft Lauderdale - Plantation

As I can see on the map those would be the areas near Sawgrass. Maybe Hollywood would acceptable too, once it is not too far from the Miami International Airport, from the beach and from Sawgrass, but those two indicated above would be perfect.

For the 2nd period I will post later...it is going to be Miami Beach.

I'm not sure i'm following your line of thinking here... why base your 3.5* and 4* bidding on what a lower rated hotel is selling for? Using MAPS and HOTELS.com what are the rates for 3.5* and 4* hotels in the zone?
