Priceline Hotel: 4* San Francisco Downtown Help with Strategy

Hi all,

Went to San Francisco three years ago and got the Renaissance Nob Hill for $86/night. Was wondering if anything like that price would be even remotely possible for 08/19 - 08/22? So far, not even close. Bidding history:

4- Union Square West - Nob Hill

$80 - $110 (using rebid zones): not accepted

Any idea whether a sub-$120 price might be possible closer to our travel dates or who can give me a strategy?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Rates vary significantly from day-to-day and month-to-month on PRICELINE, often substantially. However, in the last few years, rates in general have ticked higher. Given the rates I'm seeing for these dates, $86 does not look possible, and you're likely looking at more along the lines of $135-155. That said, you're a ways out and I wouldn't ramp too high too quickly yet. I'd pick a ceiling ($120-125) and keep trying up to that point once a week for a few months. I'd keep an eye on prices, and if nothing accepts in 2-3 months, consider raising the ceiling/budget or lowering star rating.
