nowvoyager444 Posted August 23, 2005 Author Report Posted August 23, 2005 hi again:one more quick question: how is palmer house v. Omni ambassador in terms of neighborhood, old world charm, easy access to el, walking distance to el and/or other things like downtown, wicker park, flea mrt., ok to stroll at night, ecletic and interesting nabe, etc. - i don't think i see it on HW but i think i read here that boutique on PL is pretty good shot at Omni. thanks nv444
thereuare Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 The 3.5* is a match for the Palmer House, the 4* is a match for the W Chicago City Center... each of those would be our best guesses.I don't know about your proximity question, but i don't think it will be that easy to target the Omni, as rates at that property for your dates are not that cheap, thus increasing the chance that as you raise you bid amount at the Boutique level you will be upgraded to a 4* hotel in the zone.If you know Chicago at all you may want to use our PRICELINE MAPS for Chicago to see where each of the hotels are located.Let us know what you decide to do and if we can be of further help. Just as you predicted - $90 for 3.5 star in the loop amenities: Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Business Centeris indeed the Palmer Hilton. 8/27-8/29. Cool. This was a fun process too - bargain shopping is my favorite sport. I booked it through the Barn! I'll be back for another travel adventure soon. nowvoyager444
