Priceline Hotel: Bidding advice for 5* Vegas Strip North

I am going to Vegas from 3/1/13 to 3/4/13 and am trying to get the Venetian. I see bids in the $100 range and some even below. Where should I start and what kind of strategy should I use for rebids?

You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. The trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE.

Are you willing to accept any 5* hotel in the zone(s) you bid OR do you prefer to see what HOTWIRE is offering? What is your maximum bid for this stay? (before you either lower your star rating or consider Strip South or some other zones)
