Hotwire has several, but most of the ones listed aren't really showing what the discount is - should I wait longer or is it just a popular time to visit there? Never done the priceline route, so I'm a little wary of that.
thereuare Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 The discounts shown (as a price with a strikeout through it) for some HOTWIRE properties are not the actual discount for the actual hotel offered, but rather is a median price of hotel(s) in the zone at that star rating for your same dates, therefore, i wouldn't give too much meaning to this figure (nor try to read into the appearance/omission of this figure shown from any given HOTWIRE offer)Spring does tend to be a seasonally expensive time of year in NYC... what type rates are you current seeing offered on HOTWIRE and what rates were you expecting to pay? If you got to our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com and search for '3 miles (or 1 mile) from Times Square New York City, then filter for 4* and above hotels, then sort by price (click the PRICE link above the hotel list)... what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable 4* midtown hotel?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
