Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip North) The Venetian

I am looking at 5 star north and south strip from 5/25-6/1. Found the following for the north: $165 @ day; $20@ resort fee; 4 out of 5 on tripadvisor, no amenities listed??? Another five star listing for $167; 95% recommended and bed choice, but it always disappears when I click on it.

For south strip:

$115 @ night; $30 resort fee; 4.5 out of 5 tripadvisor; 90% recommend; Free parking, free internet; suite; smoke-free rooms;fitness center; pool;restaurant;high speed internet access; golf nearby; spa services; Accessible for the blind  Accessible for the deaf  Accessible path of travel  In-room accessibility  Accessible bathroom  Roll-in shower 

I thought this might be the 4 seasons, but don't they have a $25 resort fee??

and also south strip $124 @ night; $25 resort fee; 4 out of 5 on tripadvisor; 90% recommend;

The Aria would be my best guess for this one.

Thanks for the info. I am waffling now....I have never used Priceline - but it looks like if I go with the North Strip, 5 star that I can't lose, between the Palazzo, Wynn or Venetian. Also, it looks like the prices are cheaper than on Hotwire. I have never done Priceline, but have been reading your advice. A question? Some people get the Wyn for $85 - some people pay up to $120 for the Palazzo. How do I know where to start? There's only one booking on the calendar for May. Should I wait another month before doing this? Also, I've been at the Wynn, so my preference is the other two (though, any of the three are great), is there any way to increase my chances of getting the Palazzo or Venetian?

There is no way to guarantee or increase the odds of a particular property when bidding. With HOTWIRE, one can make an educated guess (given the information showing) as to which property a listing may be, but that is not guaranteed, either. Both services require the user to be flexible and are more about getting *a* hotel for a discount rather than a specific hotel - if you do get a hotel you like, all the better. In terms of bidding, are you willing to accept any of the potential 5*'s in Strip North or Strip South?

Yes, I will be more than happy with any of the north strip 5 stars. Just wondering - is it too early to use PRICELINE for late May? It seems like most people are bidding for earlier months.

When I give a priceline bid - does that include what I will pay in taxes? I know it doesn't include resort fees.

You should begin bidding as soon as your plans are firm, but have a sense of what a 'good' price is, so that you don't overbid... keep your bids near the low end of the expected price range so that if your bid is accepted you know it's at a good price. Sometimes bid that can be accepted today are not available closer to your stay if rates should go up... sometimes bids that are not enough for your stay today are enough later on if rates drop; it's all dependent up supply vs. demand. Your bid price does not include taxes/fees, but on the 'review your bid' page you'll be shown the total amount should your bid be accepted. Resort fees are additional and those are paid directly to the hotel.

Currently i'm thinking a 5* hotel in the Strip North zone will run you about $115-$135... how high are you willing to bid at this time?

Great advice - I was thinking $120 - so thanks for that confirmation. I need to firm up one more detail this weekend, and will then (going through this site) start bidding, perhaps @ $110. If I do that, and I get my bid, should I report here or on the nevada priceline forum?

Hip hip hooray! Started out bidding at $110 (yes, I was hopeful) and inched up in $5 increments over 2 days (used the rebidding techniques) to $130. At the same time, Hotwire's prices of five star north strip hotels went down from $165 to $143. In any case, I saved $120 versus hotwire and saved $600 versus a sale on the hotel website. Thanks for guiding me through this! Used your PRICELINE links all the way through.
