Priceline Hotel: Midtown Hotel 18-28 April

Hello,

This is my first visit to this site, so I apologize in advance if I didn't place my post in the correct place...

I want a hotel in Midtown West or Midtown East (I'll be in NYC with my wife for sightseeing, so I was told that these are the best areas to bid for).

Dates: 18-28 April or 11-21 April.

I saw that most people that had won biddings, took a shorter vacation. Will I get higher prices cause I want to stay for 10 nights?

How much do you recommend I should bid for a 4 stars hotel for these dates?

When should I place a bid? Now is too early?

What is the worse hotel I can get in this category?

The higher I bid can get me a better hotel? or it doesn't matter as long as I bid higher than the minimum?

10x for helping!

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Spring rates do head higher, so rates for April are likely going to be higher than the wins that are posted for the current time period. In general in NYC, stays that are more than 5-7 days may be more problematic in terms of being able to get a deal at the same property for the entire stay.

There's no way to really point out a "worst" property in any zone; some hotels such as boutique hotels may not be everyone's cup-of-tea and people's experience at a particular hotel in a city like NYC may vary significantly from person-to-person. If you bid for a 4* (for example) in a particular area, you have to be willing to accept *any* hotel at that star rating in the zone.

What would be your desired budget per night? If you could get a better deal by splitting your stay, would that be acceptable?

Hi,

10x for the fast response.

I can't split my stay... and my max budjet is 200$ per night.

DO you think this should be enough for a 10 nights stay in the same hotel?

My guess is that a $200 bid price will get you in the right ballpark... you're probably looking at about $180-$200 before taxes and fees (although i we would of course start lower and increase up to your maximum bid)

If you're looking for the best deal possible i would also consider including other midtown zones that usually work just as well for the average visitor... MTE, MTW, TS, CPS and ESB.

Let us know if $200 is your maximum bid price as well as which zones you're willing to accept and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.
