leatherjack Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 Hi everybody,I will be travelling to Lisbon from 01/17 to 01/21. Hotwire returned $76/night for a 5* property (downtown) with the following amenities. I don't want to end up with a hotel far away from the center. So any inputs for ID will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.Amenities:Free Internet, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility
thereuare Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 If you go back to HOTWIRE and click the SEE DEAL button next to this offer (the one with the price in it), then on the ensuing page click the 'See all' link under the amenities, do you see more than what you've posted above? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. leatherjack Posted January 6, 2013 Author Report Posted January 6, 2013 I checked that window too and only "In-room accessibility" is present additional to the ones already mentioned. Unfortunately not much info is available.
thereuare Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 Unfortunately this property has not yet been reported to the board.Since this an extended stay you could see if this same property is offered for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to 'look behind the curtain'. If you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites, if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay.I did see what i believe to be the Corinthia Hotel Lisbon offers at $105/nite, but this is available for $118 without being 'opaque', so not much savings there. As some of the opaque hotels aren't priced that differently from 'retail' prices, you may also want to check out our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com to see if anything of value is offered with a good location for not much more than a 'hidden named' property. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. leatherjack Posted January 7, 2013 Author Report Posted January 7, 2013 Infact I followed the same strategy you proposed by viewing single day offers. However, the hotel listed for single day is listed with different set of amenities. (Free Internet, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower)
thereuare Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 Did you try the MAPS and HOTELS.com link mentioned above?I searched for your dates, then clicked the Hotels.com, filtered to only 5* hotels and then sorted by price... many 5* options starting at just $84/nite.Did anything there work for your needs? leatherjack Posted January 8, 2013 Author Report Posted January 8, 2013 Yeah I tried MAPS and HOTELS.com and it has good deals. But HOTWIRE offers changes daily and I want to give it a try. It now shows a different 5* hotel for dates 17-21 January. My guess would be either Sheraton or VIP Grand Lisboa. Only the free internet and golf options confuses me since neither has the both amenity together. You guys are much more experienced in this so one last effort from you will be highly appreciated. Amenities are:Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Spa Services, Children's Activity Program, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower
thereuare Posted January 9, 2013 Report Posted January 9, 2013 My guess is the Corinthia Hotel Lisbon. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. leatherjack Posted February 9, 2013 Author Report Posted February 9, 2013 Thanks for all the help but I couldn't take the chance on Hotwire. Possible ones were far away from downtown so I ended up booking a flat. Lisbon services apartments-Baixa. It was a nice place with great location at a reasonable price. ($70/night)
thereuare Posted February 10, 2013 Report Posted February 10, 2013 Glad you found something that works for your needs. Thanks for closing this thread with your decision. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
