Muzzz.87 Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 Hello,I need help in finding a decent hotel deal for stay at new Orleans from 02/08/13 - 02/12/13.I recently moved to USA so have no idea about the prices, I can spend upto 80-120$ per night, i found few with these prices online For a 2* but I was told I would find a better deal on Hotwire or Priceline. I couldn't figure out how so can someone please find me a deal and help me in booking it.I want Atleast a 3* to stay, can be 20-25miles from city centre. Please let me know if you need any more info.Thank you
thereuare Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages. If you're trying to do the typical tourist things in New Orleans you really want to stay in the Downtown or French Quarter zones, or if that is not possible the Convention Center and Warehouse - Arts District zone. HOWEVER, rates for your dates are very expensive and $80-$120 does not look like it will be possible in any of these zones. Are your plans flexible that you're able to change your trip to less expensive dates? If not, if you enter 'New Orleans, LA' into the search box on the top right of the board, look at the zones on the subsequent page... which one(s) would be acceptable? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Muzzz.87 Posted January 7, 2013 Author Report Posted January 7, 2013 I went upto 135 and no luck :(What do i do now ?
Romelle Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 You might take a look at what HOTWIRE (upper left hand corner) has to offer. I can see a 3* at the airport for $111. You could also bid the 2 1/2*s on PRICELINE. But if you decide to do this, one more zone - New Orleans East - has bidding available. You need to decide whether you'd like to include this one or not.In the Bonus Money section of the board, there is a link good for $10 per day bonus money on PRICELINE. I'm not sure whether it still is working, but it was a couple days ago. Romelle
thereuare Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? I think you could greatly benefit if you're willing to change hotels mid-stay.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Muzzz.87 Posted January 8, 2013 Author Report Posted January 8, 2013 I got Crowne Plaza Hotel New Orleans Airport for $83.00/nightis it a good deal ?Anyways thanks a lot to everybody, this forum was very helpful and informative.
Romelle Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 Did you book the 2/8-2/11 or 2/8-2/12? Right now your deal is only showing up for the longer stay.It is an excellent deal, IMO. The hotel is very well rated, and a very reliable brand. I see it has free shuttle to the airport. If you won't have a car, there is public transport from the airport downtown. Or even if you have a car, the shuttle and public transport might turn out to be easier than driving and parking.Nice work.Romelle
thereuare Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 Congratulations on your success! Hope you're pleased with the hotel and deal you received. We have edited the topic title to reflect your purchase for 2/8-2/11, please confirm if these are the correct dates of your win, and feel free to start a NEW TOPIC for the remaining nite of your stay if still needed.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay and have fun in New Orleans.PS- can you also please confirm the amenities and service you used for this purchase... the amenities you listed above look like they came from PRICELINE EXPRESS and not HOTWIRE. Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
