Hello,

I am not familiar with priceline so I need some help. I've already read a lot about priceline on the forum. I already used the links and other things.

We, a Dutch couple (2 persons) will visit NYC on march 22nd till march 27th 2013 (5 nights). We want to stay in a 4 star hotel downtown (ESB, MW, TS, MSG....) Our budget is around 130 dollars a night. I hope this is realistic enough......If so, 100 dollars a night would be perfect! We love to walk and take the metro for sight seeing.

Below, I've sorted out the different zones and stars. My freebid zones are numbers 4, 8, 13, 14 and 17. Am I right?

I hope one of you can and will help me.

Cheers.

1. Brooklyn has 1-4 stars

2. CPS has 2-4 stars

3. Chelsea area has 1-4 stars

4. Coney island has 1-2 stars

5. Downtown has 2-4 stars

6. Empire state building area has 1-4 stars

7. Hell’s kitchen has 3-4 stars

8. Long island city has 1-3 stars

9. Lower east side has 1-3,5 stars

10. Madison square garden has 1-4 stars

11. Midtown east has 2-4 stars

12. Midtown west has 1-4 stars

We want to stay in a 4 star hotel downtown (ESB, MW, TS, MSG....)...

The '...' implies other zones are also acceptable, please list all zones that are acceptable at the 4* level.

9. Lower east side has 1-3,5 stars

Double check this one.

Thanks for replying. Our 4 star zones are: Midtown west, Times square, MSG, Empire state builidng area, Midtown east, Central park south and Chelsea area.

I've checked the lower east side again (using your link). Its still 1-3 and a half star. Right?

Could you also confirm my free re-bidding zones?

Thanks.

Correct.

Which of the zones above zone offer hotels that are only rated less than 4*?

9. Lower east side has 1-3 and a half stars

13. Morningside heights has 2-3 stars

14. Queensborough bridge has 2-3 stars

Congratulations on your success!

While not my favorite hotel in the city, this looks like a nice deal for the price and this property is centrally located right near the back side of Grand Central Station.

You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.

Thank you for sharing your win with the board.
