Flying dutchmen Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 Hello,I am not familiar with priceline so I need some help. I've already read a lot about priceline on the forum. I already used the links and other things. We, a Dutch couple (2 persons) will visit NYC on march 22nd till march 27th 2013 (5 nights). We want to stay in a 4 star hotel downtown (ESB, MW, TS, MSG....) Our budget is around 130 dollars a night. I hope this is realistic enough......If so, 100 dollars a night would be perfect! We love to walk and take the metro for sight seeing.Below, I've sorted out the different zones and stars. My freebid zones are numbers 4, 8, 13, 14 and 17. Am I right?I hope one of you can and will help me.Cheers.1. Brooklyn has 1-4 stars2. CPS has 2-4 stars3. Chelsea area has 1-4 stars4. Coney island has 1-2 stars5. Downtown has 2-4 stars6. Flying dutchmen Posted January 6, 2013 Author Report Posted January 6, 2013 I just 'won' The Roosevelt Hotel New York for 120 dollars (110 + 10 bonus). A good deal?
Flying dutchmen Posted January 6, 2013 Author Report Posted January 6, 2013 Well, I think I have a good deal, the Roosevelt Hotel. It went very fast......Cheers and thanks for the help!

Flying dutchmen Posted January 6, 2013 Author Report Posted January 6, 2013 I think I've spent too much....
AaronJB Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 I'm seeing $400 regular rate as the lowest available rate on Expedia, so I definitely don't think you overpaid.
thereuare Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 Congratulations on your success! While not my favorite hotel in the city, this looks like a nice deal for the price and this property is centrally located right near the back side of Grand Central Station. You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay.
