SplitRaindrop Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 After about 3 tries we got the Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach- A Doubletree By Hilton for $65 ($84.15 with tax) - January 27th. Who doesn't love Doubletree's cookies! I believe I was bidding on 2 1/2 stars (got 3.0) and I just kept adding zones. I didn't think we'd get a beach hotel by any chance so I was pleasantly surprised by that fact alone.We needed a placet to stay for a night after our cruise and didn't want to spend too much. My only complaint is that we will have to pay for parking. We got a rental car because we get off the ship early morning and likely can't check in till afternoon/evening (check-in is 4:00). So now we'll have to pay extra to park the rental car. It sounds also like there is less desirable marina building and I wouldn't be surprised if we are put in that. Looks like a neat location by the marina. Hopefully we won't be so exhausted (like we were last year) that we can't enjoy some of the area.
