fangwei0320 Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 Hi I'm looking for a stay in Venice from 1.Feb.2013-3.Feb.2013with a budget up to $120 per nightWish to stay at least 3* or abovewithin the area of main islandis that possible to get a deal?
thereuare Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you enter 'Venice, Italy' in the BiddingHelper.com search box at the top of the board, and look at the zone boundaries, are you willing to stay anywhere within the shaded boundary of the 'Venice' zone? Are you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this trip? (ie- did you want to first try for a 4* hotel up to $120, then if rejected try for a 3.5* up to $120, and so-on... OR are you looking for the cheapest 3* hotel for this stay)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the above and we'll take it from there. fangwei0320 Posted January 5, 2013 Author Report Posted January 5, 2013 I just want the Venice area not Mestre. And my goal is to get as better as I can with my $120 per night budget. But if the chance will be much higher for a 4* hotel, I think I'm willing to add up to $130 per night.
Romelle Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 If you try your dates and Venice in the Hotwire box (upper left hand corner), I think you will get a pleasant surprise. I did that yesterday, and was noticed some offers nicely within your budget. I had expected Venice to be more expensive. You might be able to do a little better bidding via Priceline, but the Hotwire information could still be useful for you.Romelle
thereuare Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 Did you want to first look at the HOTWIRE offers where you can 'choose' a good one based upon the star rating, previous user reviews, and known amenities that you might want for your stay... or first try bidding on PRICELINE?If the latter, unfortunately you don't have any re-bid zones available in this region.I'd start with $80 (most likely too low but you do have some time) and increase by $5 every 24 hours. HOTWIRE does have a 4* hotel in the City Center zone for $106/nite, so i'd bid up to $105 (should only take 4-5 days of bidding every day) and if that is rejected we can take a closer look at the 4* HOTWIRE offer to see if is likely also a property that would be 4* rated by PRICELINE.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and/or how it goes and we'll take it from there. fangwei0320 Posted January 8, 2013 Author Report Posted January 8, 2013 I bid up to $110 but still couldn't get a deal :(anyway, thank you for the help.
Romelle Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 Besides bidding on PRICELINE, did you ever look at what HOTWIRE has to offer? Different company, different process. You can access it via the box in the upper LEFT hand corner here. Romelle
thereuare Posted January 9, 2013 Report Posted January 9, 2013 Will you be increasing your bid to your $120 maximum bid or is $110 your maximum now?If not successful with PRICELINE (or HOTWIRE) what is your back-up plan for this trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
