a&s! Posted January 2, 2013 Report Posted January 2, 2013 Hi! Im looking for a hotel in NYC from 3/23 to 3/27, up to aprox. $150. Does anyone have any idea of these hotel options that appears on Hotwire?:1) 2*1/2 Long Island City - Greenpoint Area Hotel $90 per room per night Free parkingFree breakfastFree internetFitness centerBusiness centerAccessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower 2) Central Park East Area Hotel $153 per room per nightFree BreakfastFree Internetboutique HotelSmoke Free RoomsHigh-Speed Internet AccessTHANKS!!! :)
thereuare Posted January 2, 2013 Report Posted January 2, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! Are you familiar with NYC and/or a reason why you chose these two hotels? Neither is really that centrally located for the average visitor and if you're willing to bid up to $150/nite i think you may be able to get a 4* hotel in Midtown for around this price. Is there something in particular you need or do you need to be around the two zones above? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. a&s! Posted January 3, 2013 Author Report Posted January 3, 2013 Yes, i'm quite familiar with NYC and i stayed previosuly in this area. i'm trying to save money and as hotels in nyc for those days are so expensive i thought about staying in Long Island City. Of course i prefer Manhattan, but there is quite a difference. Thanks again!
a&s! Posted January 3, 2013 Author Report Posted January 3, 2013 Sorry! Me again! Another alternative could be:2.5* Central Park West area hotel Amenities: High Speed Internet AccessRecommended:In 70% of Hotwire customer reviews.3.5 out of 5 in TripAdvisor$64 per might per room(i would love this included breakfast!)
thereuare Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 This 2.5* CPW property has not yet been reported to the board, but a guess would be the Park 79 Hotel (but it's really just a guess).Since this an extended stay you could see if this same property is offered for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to 'look behind the curtain'. If you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites, if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay.If you're not willing to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID and/or take the chance on the $64 hotel above, then i think the best bang for your buck wtihin your budget for this trip would be HOTWIRE's 3* MTC hotel that shows a 4.0/5.0 TA rating for $124/nite with: Smoke Free Hi-Speed Internet Kitchenette Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Roll-in Shower... for which my best guess would be the Salisbury Hotel. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.
